BOGUSŁAW JAN BEMBEN - He studied with Gabriel Chmura, Tomasz Bugaj, Jerzy Salwarowski, Helmuth Rilling, Collin Metters. A graduate of the Academy of Music in Katowice in the symphony and opera conducting class of professor Jan Wincenty Hawel. Doctor of musical arts under the supervision of professor Mirosław Jacek Błaszczyk. A graduate of cultural management at the Jagiellonian University.

 

He collaborated with professional ensembles in Poland and around the world, conducting hundreds of symphony concerts, opera and operetta performances and musicals. In 2012, he participated in the International Conducting Competition Nikolaj Malko in Copenhagen (Denmark). In 2017, he took part in the International Conducting Competition. Felix Mendelssohn in Thessaloniki (Greece) and in August 2023 in the International Competition for Opera Conductors in Orvieto (Italy).

 

He has performed with outstanding soloists, including: Keiko Abe, Mark Ford, Frederic Macarez, Marta Magdalena Lelek, Joanna Szynkowska vel Sęk, Roman Perucki, Adam Wodnicki, Piotr Janosik, Mauricio Silva, Michał Musioł, Łukasz Ratajczak.

 

Bogusław Jan Bemben has served on the jury of international competitions and festivals many times. He has conducted international masterclasses in conducting, among others at the Music Academy in Banská Štiavnica (Slovakia). He is a guest lecturer in conducting at the Masaryk University in Brno (Czech Republic), the University of Hradec Kralove (Czech Republic), the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra (Slovakia), the University of Prešov (Slovakia) and the Catholic University of Ružomberok (Slovakia).

 

Since 2012, he has been an assistant professor at the Institute of Musical Arts of the University of Silesia in Katowice. Since 2021, he has been the conductor-head of the Silesian Symphony Orchestra "SINFONIA SILESIA". Since 2022, he is the founder and president of the Henryk Mikurda European Foundation for the Promotion of Art.
